The Urban Mining and Recycling unit (UMAR) in NEST was listed as a showcase project of circular construction by the New European Bauhaus. The project shows how a responsible approach to dealing with our natural resources can also go hand in hand with an appealing architectural form. -
Kindergarten Kambodscha
The Swiss aid organisation "Smiling Gecko", led by Hannes Schmid, aims to help people in Cambodia to build their own sustainable future. A community based on agriculture and education is being built. "Smiling Gecko" has therefore asked the Professorship of Sustainable Construction to plan a kindergarten in the area of the organisation in Cambodia. The master project in summer 2019 was led by Prof. Dirk E. Hebel.
